What kind of print quality can I expect?
The quality of your pictures is determined by the resolution of your digital file. As a rule, we recommend choosing the highest quality setting on your digital camera when you intend to print pictures. To achieve "film-like" image quality, 300 dpi (dots per inch) is the desirable resolution. Use the following table as a guide for print size/resolution comparison.
| Size | Good | Better | Best |
| Wallets | .08 megapixels | .16 megapixels | .78 megapixels |
| 3.5x5 | .18 megapixels | .70 megapixels | 1.5 megapixels |
| 4x6 | .24 megapixels | .96 megapixels | 2.1 megapixels |
| 5x7 | .35 megapixels | 1.4 megapixels | 3.1 megapixels |

Will my pictures be cropped?
The aspect ratio of most digital files is not exactly proportional to standard photographic print sizes so, slight cropping may take place on some print sizes. A 4x6 print for example, will crop slightly on the 4 inch length, (see example above). However, if you size the files before you send them to us, YOU can determine exactly where any cropping will take place. If you do not size your image files our printers will automatically crop evenly.

What if I use a Mac (Apple)?
Note: this information is only relevant to printing in-store thru our kiosks and lab.
Macintosh CDs made from iPhoto will create a "Library" of images designed to be used in Macintosh related software. When your CD is inserted into our kiosk there will be almost twice as many images as you thought there should be making it very difficult to determine which images are the thumbnail size and which are the full size version. You can't make good prints from the thumbnails because the file size is too small.
If you plan to use your CD's in an environment other than your own computer, select the images or album(s) that you want and then use the export feature.
