Sony DT 50mm f1.8 lens
An excellent addition to kit lenses, the DT 50mm f1.8 lets you explore portrait photography like never before with your Alpha DSLR. The large aperture gives very shallow depth of field so the focus is on the subject not the background. Designed exclusively for Alpha DSLRs with an APS-C size sensor, it is one of the first fixed focal length lenses in the DT series.
Note: DT lenses are not recommended for the A900.

Extra low Dispersion (ED) glass
Reduces chromatic aberration and corrects certain wavelength of light giving you sharp, clear images and great color.
Circular Aperture
Because the aperture blades form a near circle at the wide openings used for low-light shots, spot-light sources have a pleasing circular defocused effect. The lens features nine aperture blades.
Smooth Autofocus Motor (SAM)
By installing the focusing motor in the lens itself, Sony eliminates the need for a mechanical coupling from the body to the lens for focusing and control signals. This allows AF control signals from the camera body to be sent through electronic contacts to the lens, driving the focusing lens group directly.
