Interchangeable Lens Flexibility
Built with a rangefinder-style design and analog controls, the X-E5 offers the same compact form factor as the X100VI but supports over 40 X Mount lenses. That includes the newly announced XF23mmF2.8 R WR—a compact, lightweight pancake lens that creates a truly portable setup. This lens is available bundled with the X-E5 as a kit.
Premium Build and Classic Controls
A machined aluminum top-plate gives the X-E5 a durable, premium feel. The offset electronic viewfinder recalls the experience of classic rangefinder film cameras, while the top-mounted analog controls allow for fast, intuitive adjustments. A unique design detail—a Bluetooth pairing button styled like a film rewind knob—enhances the retro feel while offering modern wireless connectivity.
Custom Film Simulation Dial
X-E5 is the first X Series camera to feature a dedicated Film Simulation dial. Built into the top-plate with a circular display window, it offers quick access to Fujifilm’s film simulation modes and includes three custom slots to save your own creative recipes for easy recall in the field.
40.2MP Sensor and AI Autofocus
At the heart of the X-E5 is a 40.2-megapixel X-Trans 5 HR sensor paired with the X-Processor 5 engine. This powerful combination delivers exceptional detail, faster performance, and additional features like a lower base ISO of 125 and deep learning AI-powered subject detection autofocus. Autofocus coverage has also been expanded to track a wider range of subjects with improved precision.
Built-In Digital Teleconverter
The high-resolution sensor enables a digital teleconverter mode, offering in-camera 1.4x and 2x crop options while preserving excellent image quality. This adds creative flexibility without changing lenses.
In-Body Image Stabilization
The in-body image stabilization (IBIS) system provides up to seven stops of shake reduction at the center and six at the edges of the frame. A new gyro sensor and algorithm improve performance, especially in low-light or handheld shooting scenarios.
Enhanced Viewfinder Experience
The built-in electronic viewfinder not only previews your image with accuracy, it also includes features that simulate an optical viewfinder. This includes three Surround View modes to anticipate subjects entering the frame and a Simple View setting that mimics the viewfinder of a film SLR.
